TKV directs to speed up progress of mine development projects

Immediately after the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday, Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) directed its member units to mobilize maximum human resources, boost production in all fields, focusing on production, processing, and blending of coal to supply electricity households. In addition, TKV leaders also resolutely directed the acceleration of the implementation of mine development investment projects, ensuring the Group’s strategic goal of energy security.

Inspecting the underground mining project below -150m level of Mao Khe Company on January 7, Mr. Ngo Hoang Ngan, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Group, directly directed the Company to take measures to overcome all difficulties, closely coordinate with the construction contractor, and speed up the progress of the bidding packages according to plan. Strive to complete the project by 2026, put the pair of vertical wells into operation to serve the expansion of exploitation. This is the first coal mining project using vertical well technology of Mao Khe Coal, and is also a key project of TKV, with a designed capacity of 2 million tons of raw coal/year, and a mine life of 50 years. The total investment of the project is over 5,867 billion VND, the implementation period is from 2014 – 2025. By the end of 2023, the unit has constructed over 16,400 meters of furnaces, reaching nearly 70% of the planned meter of furnaces for the entire project; has been and is producing coal at 3 market furnaces at frame prices.

At the construction area of ​​the Mining project down to -220m of Binh Minh mine of Hon Gai Coal Company, Mr. Ngo Hoang Ngan directed the unit to speed up the progress of digging the basic construction longwalls according to the design. By the end of January 2024, the Company had dug a total of 451m/7325m according to the technical design and was organizing the simultaneous construction of 3 basic construction longwalls. It is expected that by the end of 2026, the Company will strive to produce coal from the basic construction longwalls 2-3 months earlier than the set schedule.

During the first working day of spring, TKV also inspected the actual production at Mao Khe Mechanical Joint Stock Company. This is a unit that produces, repairs, and fabricates key mechanical equipment serving the coal production activities of the units in the Group. TKV directed the unit to continue to improve its capacity, invest in machinery and production technology; ensure the supply of quality mechanical products to units inside and outside the coal industry, especially for the mine development projects being implemented by the Group.
